Project Overview
Pyralume is a film streaming platform designed for filmmakers, film fans, and film festivals. The goal of this project was to evaluate the existing prototype and identify usability issues affecting how users discover and interact with festival content.
Through a UX audit and design analysis, our team proposed improvements to navigation, filtering systems, and user interaction across key sections of the platform.
Project Context
This project involved continuing work on a prototype created by a previous design team. Our task was to analyze the current interface, identify usability issues, and propose improvements to key areas of the platform.
My work focused on improving the user experience of the Festivals and Calendar pages through UX analysis and interface redesign.
Calendar Page Improvements
The calendar page allows users to browse upcoming festivals and events. During the UX audit, several issues were identified related to filtering, navigation clarity, and interaction feedback.
Proposed improvements included clearer filter controls, the ability to select multiple filters, and additional viewing options such as month, week, and day views to improve event discovery.
Festival Page Improvements
The festivals page serves as the main hub for discovering film festivals on the platform. Improvements focused on enhancing filtering options, improving navigation clarity, and adding stronger interaction feedback for users.
Additional ideas included festival categorization, ticket availability indicators, and options for users to bookmark events for later viewing.
Research & Documentation
Supporting this project involved producing several research and documentation reports that helped guide the design improvements and UX decisions.
Reflection
This project provided valuable experience working with an existing prototype and improving the user experience through structured UX analysis.
It reinforced the importance of usability audits, clear navigation systems, and thoughtful filtering tools when designing platforms that manage large amounts of content.
